Last updated · 7 June 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the official website of the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi at kingdomofatooi.com and any subdomain operated by the Kingdom. It does not apply to third-party websites linked from this site, whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
2. Information Collected
The Kingdom collects information only as necessary to operate the website, respond to inquiries, and maintain the integrity of its archives.
- Information you submit — name, email address, and message contents provided through contact or inquiry forms.
- Technical information — IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected through standard server and analytics logs.
- Authentication information — for users of the administrative interface, email and authentication credentials managed by our hosting infrastructure.
- Document archive usage — when a page of a published archival document is viewed, the Kingdom records the document and page requested, the date and time, browser type, referring page, and a shortened, one-way encrypted form of the visitor's network address. The full network address is not stored. These entries are used only to detect abuse and to protect the archive.
3. Use of Information
Information is used solely to respond to inquiries, to maintain the security and proper functioning of the website, to compile aggregated statistics on the use of the site, and to keep institutional records of correspondence received by the Office of the Aliʻi Nui.
4. Disclosure
The Kingdom does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information may be disclosed only where required by applicable law, where necessary to protect the rights and security of the Kingdom and its representatives, or to service providers acting on the Kingdom's behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
The website uses a small number of cookies and browser local-storage entries strictly necessary to maintain session state, remember language preferences, and operate the administrative interface. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are set by the Kingdom.
6. Retention
Inquiry correspondence is retained as part of the institutional record of the Kingdom. Technical logs are retained for a period not exceeding twelve months, save where a longer period is necessary for the investigation of security incidents. Document archive usage entries, which contain no full network address, are deleted after one hundred and eighty days.
7. Rights of Data Subjects
Individuals may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held about them by writing to the Office of Communications. The Kingdom will respond to such requests within a reasonable period and in good faith, subject to its institutional record-keeping obligations.
8. Children
The website is not directed to children under thirteen years of age and the Kingdom does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be revised from time to time. The date at the head of this page indicates the most recent revision.
