UNDRIP Article 3 and the 1993 Apology Resolution
The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2007, affirms in Article 3 that "Indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination." The Kingdom's legal position rests on that right, read together with the 1893 overthrow addressed in the U.S. Apology Resolution (Public Law 103-150).
